Unilever Laos' new headquarters at Royal Square, Vientiane brings global workplace standards together with the work patterns, culture, and everyday needs of its Laos team. The completed office was received positively, with the sense of openness noted as a particular outcome of the planning approach. This was our first design-and-build workplace delivery in Vientiane, building directly on prior experience with Unilever Cambodia Headquarters.
The layout supports focused work, meetings, collaboration, informal connection, and shared amenities. A focus zone sits alongside centrally located meeting rooms and lockers, creating a clear transition into the collaborative area. This area includes an open pantry with an island counter and a flexible vitality space for seasonal brand and product activations. Each setting has a defined purpose, while the overall workplace remains connected, spacious, and easy to use throughout the day.

Our previous delivery of Unilever Cambodia Headquarters provided a well-informed understanding of Unilever's established brand and workplace standards from concept through delivery. These were coordinated with the Laos context through a mural developed with a young local artist, featuring the country's mountainous landscape and familiar landmarks. Design decisions also responded to employee comfort. Part of the low existing ceiling was opened and finished in a darker blue, creating greater perceived height and depth within the office.
Delivering the Unilever Laos headquarters in a new market called for close coordination with local partners, suppliers, and contractors. Backed by a strong understanding of Unilever's workplace standards and approval process, the concept phase moved swiftly from vision to approved design. Through construction, the delivery team skillfully navigated local workforce availability, supply-chain differences, and program coordination around cultural holidays, keeping the project firmly on track. The result: a fully realized headquarters, delivered on schedule and within the agreed investment, with the complete brief of functions and amenities ready for the Unilever Laos team from day one.
