Urban Living Solutions Headquarters

Siem Reap, 2025

Collaboration zone with high communal table, timber bar stools, dome pendant lighting, and biophilic shelving partition defining the space within the open-plan layout

The Urban Living Solutions headquarters is located within Rose Apple Square, a mixed-use complex in Siem Reap that combines residences, a co-working hub, and the office for ULS. The design for this office is rooted in a raw and functional language that blends industrial honesty with a human-centered approach. Arranged on a single floorplate, the space establishes a clear flow upon entry, alternating open workstations with enclosed offices. This layout is supported by shared lounges and informal collaborative areas. Natural light enters from the perimeter glazing, ensuring all areas are well lit and visually connected. Long plywood shelving walls provide both storage and partitions, giving each zone definition while preserving openness across the plan.

The material palette is pared back. Exposed concrete defines the architectural envelope, accented by surfaces in sage green. Birch plywood runs throughout in shelving, joinery, and wall treatments, introducing rhythm and warmth against the industrial backdrop. This interplay of raw and natural finishes grounds the space with function and comfort. Custom-designed desks, shelving, and storage were conceived as modular elements. Their proportions and details allow for reconfiguration, expansion, or repurposing. Informal areas are integrated within the circulation. Sofa clusters, large tables, and casual lounges function as huddle spaces. The straightforward materials, modular systems, and balanced layout shape a modest floorplate into an efficient, flexible, and human-scale workplace.
