Khéma GO Phsar Thmei is a bakery and café in central Phnom Penh, engineered to function as a high-visibility anchor along a major one-way thoroughfare near the city bus station. The architecture utilizes a bold, box-like form and an expansive canopy to create a strong roadside presence, specifically designed to capture the attention of fast-moving commuters and travelers. Strategic lighting and crisp, modern lines reinforce the building’s identity, while the flexible structural framework allows the project to adapt efficiently to its constrained urban site.

The spatial planning is centered on operational efficiency and rapid customer flow. The interior layout is organized to support high-volume service through self-service bread displays and a streamlined front counter, balancing speed of service with guest comfort. Both indoor and outdoor seating configurations maximize the site’s footprint, accommodating a diverse demographic of daily commuters and destination visitors. The material strategy integrates reclaimed wood and recycled stainless steel, with steel elements embedded into the carpentry to provide a high-durability, textured finish capable of withstanding the rigors of a transit-oriented environment.

By balancing industrial and natural finishes, the design establishes a composed, contemporary atmosphere that aligns with the brand’s quality positioning. More than a bakery, Khéma GO Phsar Thmei serves as a future urban hub for Phnom Penh, providing high-quality, ready-made meals in an accessible setting. The project demonstrates how hospitality design can bridge the gap between convenience and a distinctive sense of place, meeting the evolving needs of the city’s growing community through precise, high-performance architecture.
