Khéma GO at Flatiron

Phnom Penh, 2022

Khéma GO is the first of three designs completed for Thalias Hospitality Group within Phnom Penh’s Flatiron by Meridian tower. Opened in early 2022, the coffee shop is positioned within a corner of the ground floor lobby, serving busy professionals seeking a short pause within a fast-paced workday. The design establishes a simple, bright, and controlled environment that supports quick transactions while maintaining a sense of comfort and composure.

Inspired by Scandinavian design principles, the space adopts a minimalist and functional approach. Durable materials such as light oakwood and grey concrete finishes are paired with clean lines to create a clear visual identity that distinguishes it from typical café environments in the city. The layout is compact and efficient, aligning with the operational needs of a high-turnover, takeaway-focused concept.

As a condensed version of the established Khéma restaurants, the primary design challenge was to translate the brand’s warmth and intimacy into an open lobby setting. This is achieved through careful spatial definition and material consistency, ensuring the space remains legible, accessible, and aligned with the expectations of Phnom Penh’s professional market.
