2025: A Year Defined by Purpose

From our beginnings as a boutique studio to our development into an established architecture and interior design practice in Phnom Penh, The Room Architecture and Design (TRAD) has continued to evolve with each passing year. Throughout 2025, we remained focused on creating spaces that support the operational needs and long-term objectives of our clients while navigating a broader landscape of evolving market dynamics and global economic shifts.
This past year also marked meaningful growth within our team. We welcomed six new colleagues and celebrated the internal promotion of six team members, bringing the studio to 30 people. Alongside this growth, we continued investing in technical and skills development through BIM training, technical certifications, and structured learning programs. These efforts ensure our teams remain equipped to handle increasingly complex projects and deliver consistent value to our clients. We also maintained our commitment to the next generation of practitioners through our internship program, providing a platform for students to develop the skills that will shape the future of Cambodian urban development.
Across our portfolio, 2025 was a year of substantial progress. We delivered over 20 projects spanning the hospitality, workplace, and institutional sectors while maintaining a strong internal pipeline despite changing market conditions. Our operational performance reflected this stability, with on-time delivery reaching 92 percent and budget compliance improving to 88 percent. We were also pleased to see our Siem Reap House & Commune project recognized as a finalist in the Next Work Environment Competition by Work Design Magazine, a meaningful acknowledgment of the care and depth we bring to our work.
In parallel with project delivery, we invested in the foundations that support our long-term growth as a practice. We launched a new website to better reflect our identity and the breadth of our work, and we modernized our IT infrastructure to strengthen our internal systems. These improvements ensure that the way we communicate and operate aligns with the standards we bring to our projects.
As we look back on a busy year, we take this moment to acknowledge the people who make our work possible. From our design and project teams to those who manage the essential workflows and systems that support the practice, each contribution plays a critical role in the spaces we create. Our culture initiatives this past year, including leadership workshops, knowledge sharing, and team-wide reflections, have helped reinforce TRAD as a place of growth, collaboration, and shared purpose.
Finally, we extend our sincere thanks to our clients, consultants, partners, and suppliers for their continued trust and cooperation. We look forward to building on this progress and continuing our shared work in 2026.
